There is a more methods, but every treatment starts with a detailed entry examination. During the course of this entry examination, we will determine the exact dioptrical state of your eyes. We will use machines and a clinical examination to determine a number of parameters, which we need to know in order to help you choose the right surgical method.
A conversation is an extremely important part of the examination – age, lifestyle, workload, interests – all have an impact on the choice of your surgical method. Naturally, your financial budget is also an important factor.
In some cases, certain refractive errors cannot be resolved with a laser surgery in a satisfactory manner. This can happen to a patient with a higher degree of a refractive error, a patient that is older than 45 years of age, or a patient who suffers from a combination of different refractive errors. In cases like these, we choose the method of the implantation of intraocular eye lenses, that can ensure the best results.
For patients, who are under 40 years of age and have a refractive error that lies outside of the range of laser surgeries or have a very thin cornea, the implantation of an intraocular contact lens – the so-called phakic eye lenses ICL – is a great solution.
For patients, who are older than 40 years of age and have a refractive error that lies outside of the range of laser surgeries, we recommend the so called refractive eye lens exchange RLE / CLE.
As long as your dioptric error lies outside of the range of laser surgeries and you are older than 40 years old, this method might be exactly the right method for you. The method of a refractive eye lens exchange can remove any number of dioptries. This non-laser surgical procedure (refractive eye lens exchange) is based on the exchange of the human eye lens for an artificial eye lens, which the surgeon implants into the eye. This artificial intraocular eye lens has to be made out of very high-quality material, which is able to ensure a long-term clarity and stability of the eye lens in the eye.
The refractive eye lens exchange is performed in an operating room, but is an outpatient procedure and takes approximately 10 minutes. The procedure is completely pain free, because the eye is numbed by eye drops. On the second day, the patient can see via the operated eye normally. The surgery of the second eye is usually performed within the next 14 days after the surgery on the first eye.
If the patient´s priority is removing reading glasses as well as glasses used to see long distances, we recommend the PRELEX surgical method – a refractive eye lens exchange combined with the implantation of a multifocal intraocular eye lens.
We are offering intraocular surgeries at fair prices.
